This is story is not to be made about beautiful Rohter village nor about it's peaceful inhabitants. Yet, it beginning is found there.
Where the edge of mighty Lornery forest meets the village, small path starts. it can be found only by knower, those who are allowed to find it as it is hidden by magic. The path leads trough the beautiful, forest filled with so many sounds that only the one with the knowledge of Nature could recognize them all. If the walker are patient enough, finally you will end up at the edge of the surprisingly large clearing. On other side of it large house, as impressive and stronghold like as the Fortress could be seen. Why it is here, in middle of forest, hidden to everyone? What secrets it and the persons living in it hold? Only few knows it.
Mighty walls surround it, hiding most of the building and large garden. There is training field that seems to be used a lot, swings, beautiful flowerbeds and part that looks very wild with bushes, flowers and trees growing as they desire, so differently from the rest of gardens and house that seems to be so controlled.
Trough the wooden doors, out of the 'fortress' shade rushes out. It goes straight to the meadow. It blooms beautifully, despite the first frost of the Autumn.
As the man, so the watcher could tell looking to the form of walker, reaches the part of meadow close to forest, he drops the dark hood off to face of a young man framed by wild, golden blond hair. Two bright green orbs cautiously looks around as seeking for a threat.
His clothes are somewhat simple, kind of reminding those of knight's apprentice. The dark cloak hiding brown shirt. Matching trousers and pair of boots.
"Perfect day for small escape and training." He tells to a raven that has landed on his arm, stretched just in the right moment. The bird caws, as in the answer and the climbs to the boy's shoulder. He looks grown up but if someone would take a closer look, he would find out that the escaper is only 17 or 18 years old.
Then the boy pulls out sword from the sheath well hidden by the cloak. The sword is mighty looking, the shine of the strange gem in handler matches the glint of it's holders gaze. It looks like a sword made for royalty. And maybe a royalty is holding it now. The weapon might look too big or heavy for a boy around his age but he manges to hold it easily.
Soon the boy is lost in his own mighty world of imagination, fighting the beasts, visible to no one else but him. Sometimes he says something, seeming to address the crow, that now has landed in tree, or someone else.
Finally, boy sits down under the tree, victorious grin on his lips. He puts the sword in his lap, gazing at it happily."It is wonderful gift form my grandfather, don't you think so, Derno? I hold it for first time but I feel like it would be part of me already. Maybe, once, they will allow me to leave the House and I will have adventures, will help people with the knowledge we have, with my sword and... And anything else they will need." Bird cawed. "Shut up, Hevno. They can't be as bad as you say. They all can't be as cruel as the rest of Dragon keepers." The bird shook head, almost human likely but boy ignored him and tilted head slightly, as listening to something. Then he sighed. "Don't you start too, Devno. Little People as you call them maybe be arrogant and fools but you have the first thing too. " He chuckled and looked int skies. "Yes, day is nice. No, I will not take flight because you want to feel wind under your wings. It's to risky. You say I am strange because I fantasy a lot but still are to suspicious? You should have get used by this time. And you should know that without my imagination I should never be what I am today." His voice grew sharp at the end, he seemed to feel a bit hurt.
Then silence came. No sound could be hear except for soft wind in leaves and some songbird in distant.
