Xerla sat in her room and watched forest that was so unreachable now. Three days have passed from that terrible moment when she get captured... Again. By the same Temple. Only this time her life as prisoner was different.
Xerla had to agree that she loves this green gown with golden trimmings, that she looks like princess now. Also, she had to admit that she likes this room, high up in air, all colored in brown and green colors that she loved so much. That she likes that quiet elegance that was in this room and charmed her. And she even liked those girls what helped her get dressed, and mixed her hair. If only she would be free, with Quen and return in that beautiful night what they experienced before she was kidnapped again.
Knock on doors pulled her out of thoughts. She knew who is that, she wished to lock doors and never let him in but she knew she couldn't. She had to talk with him. "Come in." She said, not removing her gaze from window. Doors opened and someone, after walking in, closed them quietly. "Xerla, my love..." He started to say but Xerla stopped him. "Never call me like that. Never." Then she looked to him. There he was, her biggest enemy, man that ordered his guards bring her here. He was young, with black, spiky hair and blue eyes. These eyes... They were in ice color, yet seemed to be lively. Everything else in his face was like made of stone, it almost made wonder how he can talk but his eyes was alive. They almost burned her as he watched her with soft smile. "Alright, Xerla. If will do as you wish. Always." He said said and walked closer. "Stay away from me, say what you have to say but keep your distance." Girl said and waved hand at him, showing that he is unwanted here. He gently captured her hand and kissed back of it. "I beg you, my Princess, let me stay close to you. Just this one evening." Xerla blushed a tiny bit but didn't say anything, just took her hand back. After moment of quietness she said: "Sit down. I believe that you will not leave me until you hadn't told what you wish to say." He only nodded and sat down in other chair, still watching Xerla. She remembered that from her maids she had heard that this young man is High Priest and that his name is Heniro. "Xerla, my dear, I just wished to say that I really can't live without you. You have taken my heart, my thoughts, everything else what I have got." Heniro suddenly said after moment of quietness. "Last time when we met, you didn't seem to be gentle lover." Girl coldly answered. "I apologize for my rude attitude tonight, in all that week. I just was stunned by your beauty. I had seen you for years but only in visions, it never was something real. And no picture, no vision can show how beautiful you really are. You enchanted me, didn't let me think clearly." Young man said. "So, it's my fault, you say?" Xerla grinned a bit. "No, you can't be guilty at anything at all." He shook head. "Then what you really wish for me?" Girl impatiently asked. "I came to ask you stay with me. In this castle. Everything what you would wish could be yours, everything, my Princess... Everything." Heniro said. "Only thing what I wish is to be free." She answered. "You will be free too. No one will try and stop you if you leave this castle. You can go anywhere." He told. Xerla seemed surprised. "I can leave this place anytime?" "Yes, you can. But before you leave, please, listen to me. It will not take much more as half hour. I promise." He said. For moment Xerla wished to leave immediately but something in his voice stopped her. He really pleaded her to stay and listen to him. <Nothing wrong will happen then, right?> She thought and stayed.
Heniro told her about his past, life of High Priest that always have to follow his sister commands, he mentioned that he can never feel safe, even his family tries to kill him. That he feels so lost, without anything in this world... His past was indeed terrifying and Xerla was surprised that he is at least half human, still has heart. He had gone trough so much betrays and cunnings that it seemed almost impossible. But then, as sudden light in endless darkness she had come in his life. And he, blinded by light, had done wrong choice kidnapping her and after that forcing his will on her. "I would never really harm you and I would never allow anyone else to harm you." He told to her. But she had gotten away. And now, knowing that it isn't best but only way, he had took her again. He said that he needed her, that he will be lost once again, that he will loose last meaning to live.
"Dearest Xerla, I offer you exchange." Heniro said after moment while Xerla had thought all what he had said. "What kind of exchange?" She asked. "I offer you chance to live as princess, always feel safe and loved, everything what you wish. I will fulfill all your wishes, answer all your questions. And most important - you will have chance to leave whenever you wish." Xerla hid her surprisment. "How did you mean that last one? That I can always go on travel with my maids?" She asked, still coldly. "No, I meant that you can leave this castle, me and everything else behind, forget us, return to your normal life. And I will never chase you again, no one will stop you." He answered. As Xerla didn't answer, he leaned a bit closer and added: "And I can teach you how to control that what laid inside you, your memories and her memories, I can explain things that confuse you now." Girl's eyes widened. "How did you..." "I know a lot of things. Not only about you, but about all world and it' secrets." Priest answered with half grin.
They kept quiet for long moment. "And all what you wish from me is just that I stay with you and "keep you on right path" as you called it?" Xerla asked unbelieving. "Exactly." Heniro nodded with smile. "One more question before I answer: what happened with that young man that was with me?" She asked, this question had to be answered, no matter what. "Oh, Quen? He wished to leave our Temple and marry some girl from Rohter village. I gave him money and house and wished them lot of luck and love in their life..." He said something more but girl didn't hear that. Her heart shattered in tiny peaces. <He... Married some girl? He lied to me... saying he loves me? How can that... be possible?!> She thought, wanting to cry. But her sudden stubbornness didn't let her cry. "Yes, I wish them all the love and luck in their life too." She added with smile. "I think it would be just dumb to not accept your exchange. But before I agree you have to promsie me one thing." Xerla said. "Anything for you." He nodded. "Say: "I promise never harm or allow others to harm these persons: Xerla, her dear one, Quen and his family."Understood?" Girl told. Heniro nodded. <She is smart... She don't let me even have chance to let some guard kill Quen because I have to promise to never allow to harm him too... But it is so charming...> Priest thought as repeated promise.
"Alright, I agree to exchange that offer." Xerla said. Heniro got up and kissed her hand once again. "I am thankful to you, my Princess. Now I will leave you, my duties are calling." He said, bowed to her and left room.
<He really seems a bit lost... I hope I can help him... I just don't understand how Quen could do something like this to me...> Girl thought. Her pride still didn't allow her to cry, so she gazed at forest again, just like before Heniro had came. Only now her pain was much bigger, now she knew that there is no cure except time.
