A man with messy orange-blonde hair and dark, loose clothing slinked down the street. It was cold out, and when he breathed his breath could be seen in the air. He glanced around through he green eyes, his tall and agile form easily blending into the shadows. He quickly darted across the empty street, jumping easily to the ladder, then climbing up. He moved up the ladder with ease and grace, reaching the top and jumping the short distance to the roof. He stood there, a dark shadow in the night, looking around.
He stopped, finding what he was looking for. He moved silently, creeping towards the beat-up and worn sleepiong bag. He kneeled down, curled into it, shivered, and drifted off to sleep.

For a long time nothing beside darkness existed. There wasn't even him, or at least he could not see or feel him self, only blackness. But then point of light shimmered far - or maybe close? - in front of his eyes. It grew larger unsteady as if someone would rip darkness like curtain from other side and then within second, all darkness was gone. Light was blinding for a moment but when his eyes got used to, he found out that the room wasn't light at all. Candle light reflected on stone walls and the coldness of room sent chills down his spine. The room it self, if not so cold and dark, could fit any princess' needs, with beautiful furniture, fire place, paintings and other such small things girl enjoyed. There was window but heavy curtains hid it and no ray of sunlight broke trough. Everything felt truly real in this room, as if he would stand here for real, not just in a dream, he even could grasp that this should be a dream but still, something made the man think it wasn't a dream. Finally, his gaze stopped at bed and something almost physically pulled him towards it. As he came closer, strange picture was showed to him. In the bed slept a girl. Though she was not breathing or moving, her soft skin glowed with life, there was no doubt she was alive. Golden brown curls framed her delicate face, her eyes closed. Her hands crossed over her chest but there was something disturbing about this scene. The girl was very beautiful, any man would admit it and that peaceful, yet sorrowful expression she had, would make any kind heart clench in sadness. It was like she would have known her death, or maybe something even worse, before slipping in this state. He found him self staring at her for quite some moment and he couldn't do anything about it. Then girl let out a long sigh and opened her eyes - bright white with dark blue flecks. She turned her head and faced him, such a deep sadness in her eyes. "My knight... Finally light of hope has reached me for you have found me in my prison. Come.. Come and save me from this darkness... You are my first and last hope..." and she suddenly gave him soft and hopeful smile, her strange eyes boring in him, trying to find the answer.
Man woke up with a start, last what he could remember was the face of strange girl smiling to him so hopefully. It felt so real, he still could feel cold air of room tingling his skin, smell lavender in air, recall the light of candles. But it had been just a dream. Right? Though, it wasn't his first realistic but strange dream.

(I hope you don't think it's a god-moding... And I can modify it if you want)

(It is god-moding, but none of that stuff I would know anyway, so I'll let it go. ) He could feel the sweat trickle down his skin; his breathing hard. It had been so real... so cold... He got up. He couldn't sleep anymore, not after that. He looked around. The sun was just beginning to rise. He gazed at his fingertips, the feeling of cold still on them. He shivered violently, as if shaking off the cold, and sighed, looking down at the street. He would have to go soon. Where was that girl? And how could he help?

(kk.)
He jumped down from the roof, landing gracefully on the ground (without harm). He began to walk calmly down the street, although he drew many eyes and stares from the fall he just took.
He blinked hard, trying to clear his mind from the dream. You are my first and last hope. Come save me... The dream echoed in his mind.

He could hear light giggling from one of the small alleys and felt someone watching him. But everything else was peaceful.

He glanced in the direction. <God, why am I so tired?> he asked himself, dissapointed and confused. He felt himself slowly falling, drifting to sleep again, and quickly regained his balance. He clenched his teeth and moved on.
(Kind of a lot for looking at something. Sorry.)

Alley was empty, maybe it was effect of his tiredness.
(I like longer posts. They don't do any harm. Sometimes, when all page are one liners, I feel like I am jsut silly for not being able to write more. And as if I would cheat my post count.)

(o. ok! ;D )
He walked through the streets, the sun shining on him. Many people still stared because even though he was walking, he seemed to be asleep. In fact, he sometimes wondered how he was still concious.

Scenes flashed before his eyes sometimes but always too fast to grasp them. But he still had feeling that it all was connected to cold room and girl with soft smile.

He stopped. He couldn't stand it anymore. He needed sleep. He was starting to bump into things (ok, once). He glanced around. <I walked in a circle. Good. I'll just rest for a while.> he thought, moving towards the building and climbing back up to the roof, dissapearing so quickly that no one (unless they were looking) could trace him.

He lay on his sleeping bag, only barely able to curl up in it before he passed out from exhaustion.

First was darkness, one again. But it ended much faster than before. Light didn't blind him because on the other side, it was almost as dark. Still, he could see somehow, understand what is going on around him. The room was familiar, still having no windows and cold. Only now it looked like no one had been there for years. Everything was colored with dust and spiderwebs, reminding horror movies where ghosts and zombies suddenly appeared from corners. Scent of lavender was gone, now only dust was in air. Only thing that wasn't covered with dust was the girl who laid motionlessly in the bed. Her eyes were closed, just like that time and it seemed she wasn't going to wake up. Then the doors opened wide and two hooded persons came in, spreading candle light around them. Trail of footprints was left behind them in the dust as they walked towards bed. "It's time to wake up, my Princess," said the first, touching her forehead gently. Then he leaned down and whispered something in her ear. He trailed her lips with one finger and blew his breath on them. "Wake up, dearest," his sneer was obvious, though his face was hidden. The girl's eyelids fluttered and she opened her eyes but they seemed so different from last time. They looked up to him empty, thoughtless as she sat up and didn't even glance around room. "Maid will dress you, my Lady and your brothers will join you in the Hall," said the other man, sounding older, talking with some respect to the girl. But she didn't even nod and slipped out of room. Then everything went black again. Next scene was in big room, full with people, standing in lines like in army but there was both men and women, old people and children but almost all of them were humans. At one of walls stood high throne and there sat the girl, her dress white, her pose graceful and eyes colder than the coldest ice. There was cruel smirk on her lips as she looked over to people. Besides throne stood two man, one dark and one light but somehow it was hard to see them at the moment. "Kneel before the Lady of Snow for she has graced you with another visit, like every ten years!" mighty voice announced and all the people bowed low. Then there was moment of quietness, before rich clothed man came in front of her. "Oh, might Lady of Snow, we are thankful to Gods and You for giving this chance to see you directly..." this continued for some time and it passed him like in blur but it all stopped when man was dragged before the Lady. He was chained, his clothes torn. "Why do you bring such a creature before me?" the girl asked, frowning. "This, Lady, is the sacrifice you asked for. This man is a criminal, he refused to pay rent for the house, he doesn't care about others, he cares only about his children, what a selfish person!" the rich man told. "Yes, indeed what a selfish person... Ared, Guard of Water, kill him. Now," Princess told and the light man moved away from throne's shadows. "Lady of Snow! How can you be this cruel? The stories tell you hate killing, that you defend the purity not lies!" disparate shout rang trough room and everyone looked to little girl who's face was covered with tears. "No, Lasa, no!" the man in chains shouted. "Oh, Lady, how can you do this to us? Take a sacrifice, kill innocents and do whatever these men say... What curse has been put on you?" girl asked, sobbing. "But I am standing for purity. This man, your father, I presume, is a selfish person not caring for his Brothers and Sisters, he keeps the things he gains to him self, not helping others. And for your empty words who caused problems in my Meeting," indeed, murmurs has runt trough room after girl had spoke, "you will be thrown in dungeon until next Meeting and then you shall be my sacrifice to the Snow," the Lady told coldly and then looked to the man to her right. "Kill him, Ared," she repeated, while girl was captured in the crowd. Ared came out of shadows and went over to the man, raising his staff. Everything blurred as was lowered in rage and two screams rang trough air. The other voice seemed familiar to the Lady's though, her lips had not moved at all.
Everything blacked out again and then image of Lady sitting on small bench appeared. her face was burred in her hands and soft sobs came from her. Then she looked up to him, wiping tears away. Her eyes now was full with sadness and pain, so different from that girl's who has sat in throne. "The 10th year is coming closer once again but I don't want to experience it again. Free me, free my people from my self... I beg you, my Knight... Help me, my time is short," she whispered, pleading look in her eyes.
The man woke up again. The sun was in the same place as when he had went to sleep, as if time had not moved at all. This time dream didn't hold on him, feelings of it soon disappearing but he could still recall them if he wished.

He remembered the familiar words, sitting up in his bag. Then, something clicked.
He suddenly understood it all, or thought that he did. He understood that the three people, the princess and the two me, were being controlled by the royal family, and that she was asking him to stop it.
His face was bright with happiness at his realisation, but then it all melted away as he frowned and slumped his shoulders. <But how? How can I help? I don't even know where you are...> He shook his head, stood up, and jumped off the roof again. He glanced around before walking down the street, a different direction than before. <No matter how I do it, it has to be done.>

Another soft giggling and feeling that someone was watching him, interrupted his thoughts. If he would turn aorund fast emough he could see flash of golden hair and pale pink skirts disappearing int he darkness of the valley. And maybe he would spot one feather on the ground.

He listened, cautiously following the wind's whispers. <Where are you taking me?> he thought, wondering if they could hear him.
